Sarah and Erik

Ashley and I photographed Sarah and Erik's wedding in late June. The wedding was held at the Rose Garden near the Des Moines Art Center. It was a day where we sure the weather was going to win and force the wedding indoors, but as is typically the case the weather cleared and a beautiful outdoor wedding took place.


Sarah and Erik are the type of bride and groom that we like. They were willing to put things in our hands and trust in what we do. That allows us to give all we have to create amazing photos on their wedding day. We shot formal photos at the Rose Garden, but following the wedding we headed over to the State Captiol area for some more candid formal photos (the good ones.) Traditional formal photos are falling farther and farther out of favor with many of our brides and grooms and us as well. They are more of a must do than a want to do. A chore.


The weather at this point in the day was beauitfully cloudy and rain free. We like to shoot at the capitol a lot, but not because of the capitol. This area provides great views of the city. We had a fun time with Sarah and Erik as well as their families and wedding party. Below is a selection of our favorite shots from the day. Congratulations Sarah and Erik!
