The weather was less than perfect this past Saturday as it rained all day, atypical for a summer day. Typically we may get a little rain in the morning or a little in the afternoon, or even some temporary thunderstorms, but it rained off and on for most of the day.
We thought we caught a clearing so we headed outside to take some photos with Adam and his best man's cars. We were shooting away when a heavy but brief rain shower started. I heard some rain drops and the a loud "Oh, No." That would be the bride. We were about 200 feet from the doors to the church and it had started to downpour. As we all ran for the church the groom asked if I needed his jacket to cover my equipment. Cover my equipment? I was shooting. I wasn't going to let this running of the bride go uncaptured. There were several other guys who promptly covered the bride with their jackets as she sprinted for the church. We were able to capture a few shots as we ran as well.
Now, I was worried that Angela would be a wreck after that. Not at all. I stopped over a couple times to check on her and aside from a little make-up touch up she was good to go. The ceremony with off without a hitch and the sun was shining when it wrapped up. We stopped at the Ankeny DMACC campus for some shots with the group and just the two of them. I thought for a brief moment we were going to be getting kicked out of somewhere again as a campus security vehicle slowed down and eyed us for a while, but he made the right choice to move along. Beautiful day, beautiful wedding, another chapter for our tell-all we write someday. Congratulations Angela and Adam.
