What's in the bag...
Just noticed the squiggly lines, darn spell check...ignore them...they add nothing to the point of the photo.

Sarah and Jacob
Sarah and Jacob were my third engagement session on Sunday. We stuck to downtown locations, did a little walking, and had a great time. As you can see they are Iowa and Iowa State fans. Many of you know the location of these two air conditioning units near Central Iowa Mechanical. They make a fun spot to capture some Iowa and Iowa State love and hate. We had some fun with them and had a great time overall. We followed up the downtown shots by heading over to Water Works Park to finish up the shoot. Great time, great photos.

Stephanie and Scott
Ashley and I photographed Stephanie and Scott's wedding this past Sunday, 10/10/10, at La Vida Loca Winery near Indianola, IA. This was our first trip to La Vida Loca and one of many trips to local wineries for us this year. (we have actually started buying wine at each one.) It turned out to be a beautiful fall day in Iowa. People probably think that I talk a lot about the weather in my blog posts and I do. The reality is that weather can play a huge factor in the types of photos we can capture on a wedding day. Somethings are just out of our control, but are a big factor in how we work.
Good weather + beautiful setting + fun couple + amazing families = AWESOME PHOTOS! The math is simple. Steph and Scott had some cool ideas for photos and we used them. One idea was to use some sunglasses in the photos. As it turned out it was quite the sunny day and the sunglasses came in handy. As we were shooting formals the sun was directly behind the gazebo. Which was good. The reflection coming off of the white chairs was not. It made it difficult to keep your eyes open or looking at the camera for very long. We worked quickly and got through the formals. The weather at times was a little too nice as it was kind of warm. The nice weather also brought out some fall insects. Still we pushed on.
After all was said and done we had a great time and captures some fantastic shots. Scott and Steph were incredibly great to work with and the photos really show that. Congratulations to Scott and Stephanie!
